South Bend, IN – Golden Retriever owners Tim and Stephanie Hein are crediting Facebook for the safe return of their two golden retrievers, Maggie and Cinnamon.
The dogs went missing from their South Bend property on Tuesday April 9th, they went chasing after a deer. Despite the Heins efforts searching on foot and by car every day, their hopes were starting to diminish.
They had posted flyers and had people spreading the word on Facebook. 5 days later, they got a message from someone 7 miles away saying she had spotted the dogs on her front porch. Tim drove to the ladies home and found the dogs in the field behind the home.
According to a story on Fox 28, the couple says “I don’t think we would’ve found our dogs without Facebook.” “It’s amazing what people can accomplish when they come together like that.”

While away on a business trip, Blackwell received a text from a friend that said she thought she had found one of her dogs. Sure enough, it was Baxter. Blackwell took Baxter to the area he was found and he lead her, pulling, straight to Bailey, who was still caught in some bushes with the leash.
It’s unknown how long the two were trapped together before Baxter broke free, but both dogs lost about 10 pounds each from the ordeal.
