Golden Retriever Service Dog Participates in Graduation

Hudsonville, MI – A golden retriever named Walton was part of Freedom Christian High School’s graduation ceremony.  The service dog accompanied Desi as she received her diploma.  Desi suffers from Cerebral Palsy and received the service dog about 4 years ago.  Prior to that she was forced to use a wheelchair.  Desi says holding her up is a full time job, and that she wouldn’t want to experience this without him. They have attended high school together, and are now graduating together. (The following photo was taken in May on picture day, courtesy of Huffington Post.

Golden Retriever Joins Cross Country Team!

Here’s a cute little story about a golden retriever named Chloe who helps her owner Sammy Stoner, who suffers from.Stargardt disease, compete with her Lexington High school on the cross country team.

According to an article from Yahoo Sports, here are the deails..

“Stoner suffers from a rare form of macular degeneration known as Stargardt disease, a condition which began to rob her of her sight at age 14. Each year the teenager loses progressively more sight, and she now struggles to see anything at all without visual aids.”
