Rescued Golden Retriever Saves Family From Fire

Livonia, NY – Teddy is an 8 year old golden retriever who was rescued by William Vanzandt’s mother about a year ago after he was found starving and skin and bones in a nearby state park.  Vanzandt and his finance Terry Sewart were babysitting Teddy this past Sunday night when a fire started in the basement where Teddy was sleeping. Teddy went upstairs and woke Terry Sewert, who turned on the light to find a smoke filled room.

The family, along with their two sons, made it out safely, as did Teddy.
