SURFice dog Ricochet, the golden retriever, “is the only dog in the world who surfs with kids with special needs, people with disabilities and wounded warriors as an assistive aid and SURFice dog.” Ricochet and her surfing buddies Patrick Ivison and Ian McFarland will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch tonight at Petco Park where the San Diego Padres host the Chicago Cubs.
The pitch commemorates Ricochet’s 4rth anniversary as a SURFice dog and a fundraising milestone of $300,000 to benefit human/animal causes.
Ricochet’s owner, Judy Fridono says
“I’m honored to have Ricochet throw out the first pitch with Patrick and Ian. It will be interesting to see if she runs to home plate and scores a run as the boys throw their first pitches! Chicago is my home town, and I’m really excited the Padres are playing the Cubs. It’s an extra special treat”

Update: Ricochet is dedicating this pitch to Chris Lane. Her Facebook page reads:
“I’m going to honor Chris Lane during my 1st pitch at the Padres game tonight. Please take a moment to think of him at 7pm PST as I run to home plate to strike out violence. RIP Chris & may your family find strength as they try to get through this tragedy. If you haven’t heard this story, here’s the link “
