About the Blogger

My name is Shannon, and I live in a small town in Southern Ontario with my boyfriend, my 2 teenage daughters, our 6 month old golden Tucker, and Betty the cat.  Betty and Tucker have yet to make friends…but we are sure it will happen.

I can’t claim to be an expert on goldens, but I really do enjoy blogging about them, and bragging about them, and bringing you the latest about golden retrievers in the news, and of course updates  about  Tucker.

I make every effort to post daily, but I am a shift working mom of two teenage girls, (as well as a mom to a very demanding golden)

Eventually, I intend to include surveys and product information, in an easy to navigate manor, and everything else for the golden retriever owner/lover/enthusiast.  Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope you continue on with me on this “golden journey”

  1. Thanks for the follow – will be following back as I LOVE goldens! I write about my dog since he’s such a big part of our family. Not sure if you saw this one about Winston: http://penneyfox.wordpress.com/2012/04/20/jake-and-the-stink-monster/

  7. What a great idea! We don’t have a dog now – we just enjoy our neighbors’ dogs and all the benefits of being furry child free (e.g., travel without worry). For our first 13 years together, we shared our life with a beautiful spring spaniel…his name was…drum roll…TUCKER! My husband picked the name – I think he said something about a highway sign for the town of that name in the Atlanta GA area, and it having the right ring to it. You can check him here: http://abundelic.wordpress.com/2012/11/30/furry-foto-friday/

  8. Hi! Thank you for liking my post, especially since it has led me to your wonder golden retriever blog. Such beautiful dogs, and they’re doing beautiful and important work in Newtown. I’m going to follow you. Thanks for your blog.

  9. Thanks for visiting and liking my blog post of pictures of my golden, Ginger. Obviously my husband and I are golden people. Ginger and her sister Lucy pretty regularly show up on my blog. I can’t wait to see more of your posts as well! Virginia

  10. MaggieMoose lives in the land of Golden Retrievers! Her breed, English Springer Spaniel (ESS) dogs are rare here. We’ve seen one ESS besides Maggie, but lots of beautiful Goldens. The Goldens are prized family members in our Peninsula area (south of San Francisco, CA). Maggie says WOOF WOOF!
Thanks for stopping by and Liking us. :) :)

  14. Hi Shannon,
I love all retrievers and have had several Labradors of my own ( someday to have a golden). I just wanted you to know that I posted one of your stories and a link back to your page on my own blog. Love your blog, thanks for writing!

  15. Just discovered this HL. I haven’t been able to respond to awards lately, as you can see I am not blogging as much as usual. Life with 12 hour shifts and two teenagers. You are my virtual bestie, and am truly honored!

  16. Lol…I was viewing your header photo of the row of goldens, and it made me think, wow you have the other end of the spectrum. All of ours have been the darker end. Such a beautiful breed, and I am speaking of their hearts. Loyal and devoted companions every one.
