A Twitter war has broken out between Peaches Geldof and Katie Price (aka Jordan) over whether or not it is safe to let dogs around babies.
Reality TV star and model Katie Price (left) accused Peaches of being an irresponsible parent for letting her golden retriever “Parpy” near her son after Geldof posted pictures of the beautiful duo on Twitter.
Katie Price wrote about the incident in her newspaper column in The Sun.
“Let’s hope she grows up a bit more before becoming a mum to two tots,” and “An animal is an animal and that means they can turn on you at any point. All new mums should also remember that dogs can easily get jealous of new babies.“
Katie continues “I’ve got two French mastiffs and a French bulldog at home but my kids are only ever allowed to play with them over the fence.”
(doesn’t that sound like a barrel of fun?)
On November 19th, Peaches replied with a series of tweets:
“Funny that Katie Price aka “Jordan” (lol) thinks that I shouldn’t allow my gentle, sweet golden retriever dog near his best friend, my son-”
“I could say the same thing to her about letting some of the multitude of “boyfriends” she has near her kids. They all seem to be more vicious and far less intelligent than my dog will ever be. And I do just LOVE seeing her flashing her vag in the press all the time. *vom*.”
‘A female role model for the times if ever I saw one, and of course the perfect person to be lecturing me about my mothering skills. Er…’
I have to agree with Peaches on this one. Katie Price is no role model, and should not be pointing fingers, and Parpy is adorable looking puppy!
What do you think?
Drake achieves a personal best. See how many socks he catches!
I vow to try my best to keep my Pinterest board up to date on Adoptable Golden Retrievers. Hopefully the links will show if they are adopted anyways, but thank you for reading this post, and considering rescuing a golden retriever. If you need assistance, please contact me at thedailygolden@gmail.com with the subject “rescue” and I will be sure to respond within 24 hours with local goldens in need of rescue.

Please click here to see my Pinterest board on adoptable golden retrievers. You can also Google “golden retriever rescue ___________” your state, province, whatever. Petfinder is another source, just use common sense and beware of those who want to “give away” their dog. (although sometimes, these can be the most urgent cases!)
Ideally, I would like to have a listing of all golden retriever rescue organizations…another thing I strive for.
If you are still reading this post, thank you! Thank you for considering Golden Retriever Rescue!
I have said it before and I will say it again, although I strongly support the dedicated and responsible golden retriever breeders, I vow to only choose rescue from here on out. I’ve been there, done that with the puppy (twice) and will continue to support the breed on a daily basis, but my heart strongly feels the need to reach out to one of these senior or special needs goldens. Now to convince the boyfriend…
Betty White is an actress and animal activist. She also happens to own a golden retriever named Pontiac. He was rescued from Guide Dogs For the Blind in 2010. Before that, she had a golden named Kitta, also a rescued former guide dog who had bad hips.
Betty was an only child growing up and only had pets as siblings. She eventually came to love the golden retriever for it’s ability to read their humans feelings. Kitta took care of Betty after her hip surgery, and she spent her 90th birthday with her favorite companion, Pontiac.
“Once someone has had the good fortune to share a true love affair with a Golden Retriever, one’s life and one’s outlook is never quite the same.” –Betty White
I was born in the very early seventies, and grew up watching Betty White on Mary Tyler More, The Golden Girls, and more recently, on Hot in Cleveland and Off Their Rockers.
Betty was recently honored at The Second Annual American Humane Association’s Hero Dog Awards. Here she met Surf Dog Ricochet (another amazing Golden Retriever!) and agreed to match any donations that were raised on the sale of a custom made dog dress for dogs in need.

Here is Betty White and Pontiac pairing with the Morris Animal Foundation to fight canine cancer. Another great site that needs to be mentioned (and worth a whole blog post) is Land of Pure Gold. This is a site ran by Rochelle Lasseur dedicated to cancer research in golden retrievers. It is my favorite golden retreiver site on the web. Click here to read a great article about Betty White from Rochelle.
Thank you Betty White, for all you do for animals!
.Today in Canada we celebrate Remembrance Day. In honor of all who served or our serving, here is a video of U.S Airforce Captain Karen Fisher returning from deployment in Afghanistan, being greeted by her 8 year old golden retriever Molly. Let’s just say Molly is a little excited to see her person!
You may have seen this adorable golden retriever in the “which cup” video, her most popular by far, but there is so much more to know about this beautiful Golden Retriever who lives out her days in Japan. They are a country known for spoiling their pets, and Coco is definitely no exception.
Coco has a whole channel dedicated to her cuteness. You can see her playing hockey, eating corn on the cob, playing on the slide..the list is endless. I could watch Coco all day!
For Coco’s birthday, she is being treated to a sushi dinner prepared tableside by her master. Oh the patience!
Coco you are such a calm, sweet golden retriever.
Here’s Coco checking out a GIANT stag beetle. <shudder>
Coco is a fan of Takata Akira the company President of the TV shopping program “Japanet” (ジャパネット). Here’s a video of her watching her favorite show. She just goes crazy when this guy comes on the tube.
Apparently Takata Akira sent Coco a Luis Vuitton dog collar and wrote her a nice letter after seeing the video.
Coco even made the big time. Here she is on TV (although I am really not sure what the heck I am seeing!)
Please check out Coco’s YouTube channel or Facebook page to get to know her more!
This video is all over the web today, so I figured I should share it too. This sleepy puppy likes to listen to guitar. It’s almost too early in the morning to be exposed to this cuteness…enjoy!
This photo took the Imgur world by storm. It’s a great photo! We used to cover Logan’s ears after his face turned white and compare him to a baby seal. Those big brown eyes!!! That soft look! Here’s to the beautiful golden retriever!
Just beautiful! I don’t have an Imgur account. Hopefully I can credit the original source.
